Cedars School is a Christian Montessori school that offers high quality educational services to individuals, families and institutions. We believe that every child matters and deserves the best. We do not reject any child based on race, nationality or creed though we usually prefer to clarify goals and values to avoid conflict of interests.

To us, Education is the means by which we come to know and appreciate the world. Learning is not a luxury; it’s a necessity and a powerful tool for kingdom and nation transformation for good in this world. It’s a tool we should use-and share-during every stage of life. One sure benefit of education is that when we experience the joy of learning, we want to continue to enjoy it. “Education begins from birth and is an aid to life,” we agree with Dr. Maria Montessori.

Cedars was established in February 2008 and started as an education Training centre. The children’ school was founded in September 2010 in accordance with a vivid conviction to reveal God through education with the following scriptures serving as a guide: Psalms 78 vs 2-7, “That the generation to come might know them. The children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God. But keep His commandments.” Colossians 1 vs 17…In Christ all things consist and Zephaniah 3 vs 14-20. God is set to make Cedars a name and a praise among all people of the earth.

Cedars has become a place to be indeed! From the time you enter the premises of Cedars, you can feel why it is the place for your child. The presence of God with us is our major ace. Then, the caring adult, well experienced staff and a well prepared environment.

Cedars school is the vision of God given to Mrs. Lilian Nnenna Akuma way back in 1992 when she became convinced that running a school is a calling God wants to prepare her for in life. The School Proprietress, Mrs Lilian .N. Akuma graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelors degree in Educational Administration (1998), a Masters degree in Educational Psychology (2004) both from University of Lagos, Akoka , a diploma from the North American Montessori Centre (3-6years),a diploma in Basic Montessori(0-6years)2003, Montessori Assisstant Course, and a combined diploma in Montessori foundation and Elementary diploma from Montessori North West, Portland Oregon, USA. She has furthered her learning in International Primary Curriculum and so many other trainings. She is also a graduate of Enterprise Development Services of the Pan African University where she obtained a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management. Lilian is also a certified Etiquette Consultant from the inside school of Etiquette in florida, USA.
